On behalf of the PDHPE faculty and all staff at Cessnock High School, we would like to congratulate all students who attended the School Athletics Carnival. This was by far the most competitive and spirited carnival we have seen.

All student behaviour was exceptional and the competitiveness for House Championships and Age Champions was the closest and highest scoring carnival to date.

We would also like to thank Stacy and the SRC for provided the carnival with food drink and a BBQ. Special congratulations to Mr Bell for his organisation around the carnival prior. Mr Bell was unable to attend, as he was on leave looking after his new born son.

Congratulations to the following students who claimed the title of Age Champion. These athletes are the best of the best for their age group and often the most consistent across all events.

12 Years - Sean Pilgram and Tayla Brooks

13 Years - Angus Smith and Zahlia Wietzer

14 Years - Riley Denton and Mikensy Selvage

15 Years - Tyler Bate amd Sophie Prater

16 Years - Xylis Weissenborn and Lilly Vasilis

17 Years - Lennox Vasilis and Adara Redman

Althought the above athletes are the champions, there were some very close competitors who almost claimed the title. Honourable mentions go to Harrison Reed who was only 2 points behind Xylis in a back and forth event. Abigale Prater was only 3 points behind Mikensy and Maddison Knott and Kiana kronholm who were very close to Lily Vasilis. And finally, Elijah Bate who was hot on the heels of Sean Pilgram.

Final congratulations go to the Sports Coaching students who assisted with the carnival, the Year 12 girls’ group who dressed in house colours and all senior students in attendance.

The final result is the Champion House points tally.

Wollombi 1st Place: 171.5 points

Hunter 2nd Place: 99 points

David 3rd Place: 77.5 points

Kearsley 4th Place: 70 points
