Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Its time to celebrate the success of our wonderful Year 12 cohort and recognise their achievements. Although 2020 context has meant we have had to make amendments to the traditional format for a graduation assembly, we are looking forward to sharing the culmination of their secondary studies with you. Our graduation assembly will proceed on Friday 25th of September with some changes to the format.
Current Department of Education advice means that attendance will be restricted to Year12 students and school staff, parents are therefore unable to attend our graduation assembly.
Our farewell for year 12 will commence from week 10 Monday 21st of September. Our organisation for the week will be as per COVID 19 guidelines. Our celebrations will commence with Year12 participating in some themed dress-up days. We will enjoy watching the students explore the themes of Gender Bender, Tradie Tuesday and Sports Stars. Classes will continue as regular each day, with a staff/student picnic lunch on Wednesday afternoon followed by a staff vs student dodgeball game period 5 on the oval. On Thursday students will have their own water activities morning on the oval followed by a graduation practice.
Friday 25th September sees our formal graduation assembly commence at 2.10 pm in the MPC. The ceremony should run for approximately 45 minutes, with students exiting the school via the agriculture plot gates at the end of Mulbring Street and walking up to Aberdare road. Parents are invited to park and stay in their cars to watch and celebrate as students do their final walk out. We will endeavour to clear as much parking space as possible for parents but please be mindful of our neighbours and community in Mulbring Street. Photos of the event will be accessible via an online link shortly after the event.
We will endeavour to set up a live ZOOM of the event (at present still working on it) if available it will be on ZOOM at Webinar ID: 639 4120 7848 Webinar Passcode: CHS2020
Term 4, Monday to Friday week 1, all students will be provided flexible leave to study from home. Teachers will be available during their normal timetabled lessons for specific feedback and support. Students should sign in and out when entering the school at any time.
Yours Sincerely
Peter Riley Principal
